Hastings Entertainment to host in-store signing with author David Sedaris

We will be hosting an in-store reading and book signing on Friday, June 19 for David Sedaris, promoting his recent paperback release of Engulfed in Flames. Sedaris, known as NPR humorist and best-selling author will begin the reading at 6pm inside the Hastings location on 917 S. Highway 80 in San Marcos. An autographing session will follow.

10 Weeks of Discovery at Hastings Entertainment

We are excited to announce the first annual 10 Weeks of Discovery at Hastings! Starting June 11, from 6 – 8pm at our store on 2020 S. Georgia St., we will join forces with Celebrate Education to bring 10 weeks of discovery and education to children ages 8 – 12.

WEEK 1 (June 11)

Kickoff Week
A fun introductory week that explains 10 weeks of Discovery to parents, gives them a solidified itinerary, and gives kids an opportunity to make goals for their 10 weeks of Discovery.

WEEK 2 (June 18)
Personality Assessment Week
Stations set up to learn communications styles with people of your same personality type and people who are different than you.

WEEK 3 (June 25)
Art Week
Art basics – Painting and drawing

WEEK 4 (July 2)
Theatre Week
Theater basics – Production, acting, costumes and makeup

WEEK 5 (July 9)
Music Week
Music basics – Types of music, learning to read music, exposure to unique instruments

WEEK 6 (July 16)
Writing Week
Writing basics – Types of writing (fiction vs. non-fiction, editorial)

WEEK 7 (July 23)
Brain Teaser Week
Enjoy 3 different stations of the famous Brain Teaser quizzes!

WEEK 8 (July 30)
Science Week
Discover the 5 senses through science.

WEEK 9 (August 6)
Career Day
Stations set up for Celebrate Education partners.

WEEK 10 (August 13 or 15th dependent upon size)
